Arizona Immigration Law vs. the Feds

So there is an uproar over the immigration law in Arizona.  TV talking heads try to make it out like it's Nazi Germany during WWII and you have to have "your papers."  Well, in one way that is not a bad analogy.  Except the innocent people of Arizona were getting tired of going out to dinner and coming home to find illegals in their homes stealing their food, clothes etc. So the Arizona State government decided to do what the feds and President Obama, or Bush before him have refused to do, they decided to protect the innocent instead of pandering to the guilty.

We applaud them.  There are two ways to enter this country, legally and illegally.  We welcome all legal immigrants.  We reject all those that would break our laws to come here. 

Do you stand in line at a movie theater and let someone just jump in front of you?

Illegals buck the system and jump in front of those that are trying to come here legally. 

Many, not all of course but many are trafficking drugs, people and prostitutes.  Do we really want to encourage this?

I believe we should allow more good people into our country, but we need to keep out criminals, drug dealers, gang members who are coming here to wreak havoc.  The only way to do that is for us to control our borders (like every other civilized country) and let people in, in an orderly fashion.

CNN Reporter Gets "Schooled"

CNN wonders why their ratings are in the toilet.  They can't report a story correctly or fairly.  They have no journalistic integrity and we all know it.  It's the same reason that the NY Times, and Time and Newsweek are all losing readers.  It's not that people won't read a newspaper or magazine anymore, it's that people can go online and fact check and they don't like to be lied to. 

When you can see footage from an event yourself and see that it does not match what the "has-been" media tells you you realize that they are liars who cannot be trusted.  When the only thing that you can "trust" in the paper is sport scores and the comics, what do you need a newspaper for? What do you need CNN for? 

Watch this video, see how the reporter tries to make the Tea Party folks look bad and then how she acts when she is the one getting "interviewed". 

What will the Supreme Court Say?

Remember when President Obama embarrassed the Supreme Court at the State of the Union Address in January?  The Court had ruled, in a courageous decision, that McCain-Feingold violated free speech rights.  Obama, took a cheap shot at the Court as the justices sat there.  Juvenile Democrats whooped and hollered like drunken frat boys.  Chief Justice Roberts disgusted just shook his head and muttered "not true." 

Now comes payback.  You see Obamacare has, what is called the "individual mandate" requiring all Americans to purchase health insurance against their will. That is most likely unconstitutional and guess who gets to review that? You guessed it. Those same Supreme Court Justices that were bullied and humiliated by our juvenile friends back in January. 

So while I'm sure the Justices will seek Constitutional justice and will uphold their oath, unlike so many congressman, who sold their votes.  They are still human and you can just imagine the personal feelings, that bit of pleasure they might take in sending this down the toilet because it won't stand up to the Constitution. 

Wouldn't it be fitting if the Justices gave Obama a smackdown and then hooped and hollered a bit as they read their decision.

Obama's Cross

Remember the outcry when Mike Huckabee ran a TV ad where a bookshelf looked like a floating cross? TV reporters were all over that. Here's Senator Obama's flyer from Kentucky where he is trying to win the Evangelical vote. No subliminal message here. The cross is right out there. Is this okay? Is this good? Bad?

Greenpeace founder says "Go Nuclear"

Patrick Moore, the founder of Greenpeace, which originally opposed nuclear power now says that world economies need to "wean themselves off of fossil fuels." He went on to say that building hundreds of nuclear power plants is the only viable option.

He also said that "there is no proof global warming is caused by humans" but it is "likely enough" that we should turn to nuclear power.

Andrea Shipley the executive director of the Snake River Alliance says the only reason Patrick is backing nuclear power is that he is "paid by the nuclear industry to do so."

Mystery in Syria

The recent Israeli air strike on a target in northern Syria remains shrouded in mystery. The governments of Israel and Syria won't comment publicly on what was attacked or why. President Bush pointedly declined three times this week to answer reporters' questions about the incident.
